Event Policies

AnimeCom Festival (ACF) reserves the right to modify and/or update this policy at any time at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

 

AnimeCom is aiming to provide the best pop culture festival and creative arts expo experience for all our attendees. As our tagline states: "Inspiring Creativity. Celebrating The Popular Arts." Hence, we would like to emphasize that both patrons and exhibitors are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct and Discipline, listed below.

CODE OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

 

Prohibited and Unauthorized Actions:​​​​

1. Violation of any of the venue security rules and regulations. This includes non-compliance with authorized security checks, bringing in of prohibited materials as informed by the guards, and willful circumvention of the security policies.

2. Uncooperative, disrespectful, and unruly behaviour towards the convention organizers, officials, marshals, volunteers, and venue officials and security personnel.

3. Physical or verbal threats, harassment, stalking, use of physical force, or any offence that causes disturbance or danger towards other convention guests.

4. Use of boisterous, lewd, or offensive behaviour or language, such as sexually explicit language, profanity, obscene gestures, racist or religious slurs, which is likely to provoke a disturbance or done to enrage others.

5. Any attempt to have an innocent person removed from the convention by falsely accusing them of harassment will be itself treated as an act of harassment and will be dealt with appropriately.

6. Assembly of a group that results in disturbing the public peace or committing any unlawful acts or offensive behaviour.

7. Economic or solicitation activity within the convention areas that is not approved by AnimeCom or does not comply with AnimeCom’s rules for such an activity.  This includes a solicitation for donations, selling of unauthorized goods, unauthorized peddling of goods (e.g. without an exhibitor’s booth), or distribution of commercial advertising or promotional materials of any kind.

8. Public display of any sign, whether for a costume prop or not, that is, violate any of the items above (example, signs intended to advertise or incite disruptive actions). Unapproved signs will be confiscated and repeat offences may lead to individuals being escorted out of the premises.

9. Possession of any item that is deemed dangerous or can be used as a weapon, including but not limited to firearms, explosives, clubs, knives, whips or any other objects that may place other convention guests in immediate danger or feelings of danger.

10. Possession and consumption of any alcoholic beverages by minors. Possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages by adults is also not allowed, except within appropriate areas specifically designated by the organizers or venue officials.  Adults caught in the act of providing these substances to minors or exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication are also subject to sanctions.

11. Possession of any illegal substance or drugs, such as narcotics. Simple possession is grounds for sanction and possible legal action.

12. Smoking within the festival areas designated as non-smoking.

13. Violation of any law or local ordinance. This is also grounds for possible legal actions.

14. The parameter of the laws of Jamaica is strictly upheld at AnimeCom.

 

Disciplinary Actions:

1. AnimeCom staff and security personnel are authorized to enforce this Code of Conduct and Discipline. Violators may also be referred to the venue Security or Police Office for further sanctions or legal proceedings, if necessary.

2. AnimeCom and its organizers reserve the right to refuse entry to any individual or group found in violation of these rules. Persons or groups who have been found to violate these may also be escorted out of the premises by authorized personnel.

3. As a guest, if you have a concern that another guest has been in violation of the above Code of Conduct, please do not take action on your own and refer the concern to one of the AnimeCom staff or venue security personnel.  Disruptive or unauthorized action by a guest, even on behalf of this Code of Conduct, may result in corrective actions taken on the said guest as well.

4. During the convention, information booths will be located at the event for questions, concerns or inquiries. If you need immediate assistance, please do not hesitate to approach anyone on the AnimeCom staff or authorized security personnel.

TICKET DISCLAIMER

 

For consideration which HOLDER acknowledges, HOLDER expressly agrees!

 

ALL SALES ARE FINAL NO REFUNDS NO EXCHANGES The Promoter is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase unless the event is cancelled, abandoned, rescheduled or where there is a material change to the event. A material change is a change which, in AnimeCom Fest's reasonable opinion, would make the event materially different to the event that the purchasers of the ticket could reasonably expect. Each person, regardless of age, must have an admission ticket. Ticket price includes all applicable fees. No weapons of any kind are allowed. No video, flash or professional (detachable lens) cameras are allowed. The HOLDER of this ticket expressly assumes all risk incidents to the event, whether occurring prior to, during or subsequent to the actual event. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse admission or reject any person whose conduct is deemed disorderly or hazardous to others or who fails to comply with the terms and conditions herein. Any such refusal or ejection may be without the refund of any portion of the ticket purchase price. The Promoter reserves the right to add or change rules HOLDER grants the right to the promoter and its agents the right to use HOLDER's image and/or likeness in connection with any live or recorded video display or other transmission or reproduction in whole or in part of this event. Tickets can be damaged if exposed to heat or sunlight.
